Established in 1989 in Warrnambool, Victoria, are-able is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and disadvantages through tailored employment, education, and community services. Over the past three decades, are-able has expanded its reach, now operating over 30 regional locations across Victoria and South Australia, and has assisted more than 40,000 people in securing meaningful employment.
Comprehensive Services
are-able offers a wide array of services designed to support individuals at various stages of their employment and personal development journeys:
• Employment Services: Through programs like Disability Employment Services (DES) and Workforce Australia, are-able assists individuals with disabilities, injuries, or health conditions in finding and maintaining employment. Services include personalised job search assistance, résumé preparation, skills assessments, and ongoing support to ensure long-term success in the workplace.
• Training and Education: Recognising the importance of skill development, are-able provides various training courses as a community Registered Training Organisation, including First Aid, Early Childhood Education and Care, Mental Health First Aid, and Disability-specific programs. These courses are designed to equip students with practical skills for study, work, and life.
• NDIS Services: As a trusted NDIS provider, are-able delivers a range of specialised services designed to support individuals in building skills, gaining independence, and connecting with their communities. Our offerings include Finding and Keeping a Job, plan management, and engaging NDIS activities tailored to individual needs. For the third consecutive year, are-able has been recognised among the top three providers nationwide for open employment outcomes through the School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) program. This achievement reflects our commitment to empowering young people as they transition from school to employment, creating meaningful opportunities that positively impact their families and communities.
• Social Enterprises: are-able operates several social enterprises that create meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Community Impact and Foundation
Demonstrating a strong commitment to community development, the are-able Foundation was established in 2004 to support organisations that improve access and opportunities for individuals living with disabilities or disadvantages. Since its inception, the Foundation has distributed over $1.6 million in grants to businesses and community organizations throughout Victoria and South Australia, reinforcing are-able’s dedication to fostering inclusive communities.
